From this blog posting, Michael Blieden wrote: Hey there. I'm a documentary director, interested in talking to you about your blog. There's a tradition of clean tech enthusiasm in my family. Lens: "b" hiding his identity by backlighting him? But he's already shown us how he will hide his identity :)
Just assume everything I say about EEStor includes the phrase "if it works".

Hey the bag worked for the 'unknown comic' (if any of you are old enough to remember him) so it could work for b.... |

I think B means that Blieden wants to do a documentary about EEstor not B himself. |

I'm all for this documentary. It will take some creativity. The real story is not this blog though, it is EESTOR. Similar to what you stated B, this would make a lot more sense after the announcement of 3rd party permitivity verification. |

The only documentary I am interested is, not from B, not from Steve/Zawy or YPO/Schneibster. The only one that has any meaning is from Richard Weir, Carl Nelson, and maybe a line or two from Ian Clifford, it's not about us, it's about changing the world as we know it.. clean unlimited energy, i think that's about as big as it gets... |

of course, if the EESU is paraded by Al Gore next month, then we all become prophets. Think of it like a rapture event where our avatars and posts transcend and depart this blog and we are documented as real people and shown on the big screen!! Well, I can see why it takes comedian to do a documentary on all of us. I agree with others that the focus should be on ZENN, LM, and EEstor and not on this blog. What is next? we show up for a survival reality series at Mark's resort? Thanks BTV for the blog |

Wrong. A documetary on this subject that will have the most appeal is not one that deals with Weir, Clifford, and the science. It is one that deals with us. WE ARE THE WORLD. Our hopes, our dreams, our frustrations, our anxieties. I remember someone here posting that all he cared about was his daughters, and how they are going to survive in this 'post peak' world. Thats the story- the human impact, sometimes laid bare on this forum.... So- there's a compelling story here if EESTOR works, or if it all turns out to be a bunch of Peanut butter. Good religious angle to this story as well. fear of death brings a leap of faith for our personal salvations. Here, our anxiety over the future of humanity brings a leap of faith that eestor has done something "outside the box" to solve the problem. Our resident atheist Y-PO says it can't be done no matter what. The believers chant- no y-po, you have to think outside the box, take that leap of faith... Y-PO says "outside the box? You can't even think INSIDE the box...!" Very interesting... Brad |

rereading my post, I see that some clarification may be helpful. When I met with Blieden, I wanted to know what was his vision of the documentary if EEStor did not produce. (everyone probably has a good idea of what the successful EEStor situation would look like. ) We kicked around some ideas...nothing set in stone. also, I didnt mean to imply that this site was necessarily going to hold any significant place in the story. But it seems clear that the site is a good resource for Blieden to work with to find people who may want to talk about EEStor and their views on it. Finally, the story that emerges from any documentary is often times a function of the final cutting of the story....decisions around what to include and exclude, etc. In a veyr real sense and especially for a documentary, you dont know what the story is going to be til you finalize it via your final editing of it. ------------------

I wish someone had done a documentary on Steorn. That was fascinating. The message board they set up was polarised into 'believers' and 'sceptics'and all sorts of unlikely proposals which would surely work given stonger magnets. Passions ran very high! I received several dozen furious emails including a not terribly convincing death threat when I reminded them of Homer Simpson ordering Bart to throw his working perpetual motion machine away with the words "In this house, boy, we obey the laws of thermodynamics!" In the end the company announnced a demonstration of the working machine and hired an art gallery in London. Believers flew from the US to see it, and a webcam was set up. Alas, all it ever showed was an empty glass case and a shot of the distant London Eye through a window. A "technical problem" had stopped it working! It would make a truly fascinating documentary, but I don't believe the company wish to talk about it. It didn't seem to be a scam, but rather a case of people genuinely thinking thet had found a loophole in the laws of the universe. user banned for spamming while under probation |

I think this documentary, could turn out a little like the 'Life of Brian' [Monty Python] with the bloggers portrayed as the followers of Brian!! It could be very amusing but it will ultimately not get us anywhere. The real story is about Eestor and Zenn and some of the personalities around the story such as Al Gore, Morton Topfer and Bill Joy. I will be interested to know how it turns out. 10! |

excoriator Supposedly there was a documentary being done on Steorn. Sean McCarthy, CEO of Steorn supposedly hired a team to document their process of discovery. Of course, as with everything else they claimed, who knows what was real and what wasn't. |

Steorn is actually "not quite dead yet". They have not had any trouble securing funding over the past year. I wouldn't write them off yet. Maybe next year. StephenB |

Hey there, Mike Blieden here. I'm going to Austin at the end of the week for the Alt Car Expo at the Palmer center. My hope is, naturally, to meet some people in the Austin area who know something about this story and would sit down for a taped interview. If there's anyone from this forum who's up for it, you can send me an email through my website (www.theclawproductions.com). Just click contact and use the form. It will go right to me. Please include in your email the username you post under on this site. Also, if you have any suggestions about people I should try to get a hold of while I'm there(other than EEStor, who has declined) I'm happy to have the input. Best, Blieden |

Do like Michael Moore and camp outside EEStor with a camera and follow Dick Weir around everywhere. Home to work and back again, day in and day out. Run up behind him on a golf course with a camera and a microphone and demand to see an EESU. Talk to the businesses around EEStor facility and get some answers from them. Don't take NO for an answer. Glad to have front row seats to this show. |

Welcome to the forum, Mike! Too bad EEStor has turned you down. We'd love to see a video tour of their production facility! I suggest you try to interview Austin billionaire Morton Topfer. He's a member of the board of EEStor, one who left the board for an unknown reason and later returned. We'd love to know why! The problem, I guess, is all those durn NDAs (non-disclosure agreements). They keep anyone who really knows anything about EEStor from talking. I hope you can find someone who's willing to break the "wall of silence"! Maybe one of those interviews where the film maker hides the identity of the interviewee by putting them in shadow and electronically altering their voice? |
