LightEVS has changed their deadline to first half of 2010. This is the 3rd change since their website has been up. It looks like we're in for another long wait.

We anticipate EEStor completing their first production prototype EESU (i.e., produced from their production line) in the first half of 2010. The ensuing refinement of the production line and testing of the EESUs may then take a few more months. Barring unforeseen problems (it would be surprising if none occurred), the first production EESUs ready for distribution in EVs should be available sometime in the last half of 2010. We intend to be ready to start introducing EESU-powered LEVs and electric propulsion systems for LEVs, in conjunction with manufacturing partners, as soon as EEStor makes production EESUs available to us.

That's very MPI like: as soon as one deadline passes, push-out by six months to a year.

ETA: For those who oppose the word: "deadline", MPI substitutes the word "goal".

Well they could hardly leave it as "end 2009".

Of course they needed to move the bar. The question is always how much. Move the bar too far and the intended audience loses interest. Move it too little and it has to be moved again very soon. Compare LightEVs statement to the verbal representatins callers to Zenn claim Catherine was handing out just a week or two ago.

Surprise, surprise. The goalposts have been moved again. I guess the world will have to wait some more for energy salvation. An interesting question is 'how long can Zenn tread water?'

That text actually hasn't changed - it has been there for months. All they did was a replacement of 2009 with 2010 throughout the page.

I remember watching that Bill Cosby story on tv. It was great then and it's great now. Great comedy is timeless.

That's good to know. LEV's seems to be doing what Zenn should be, which is taking DW's spin with a grain of salt and staying in hibernation until delivery instead of pissing all their money away.

B mentioned in chat that LightEVS has their controller ready to plug into an EESU as soon as it is available.
This is somewhat re-assuring to me because it implies that Carl Watkins is still working on his end to get things ready for delivery. As frustrating as it is for me with all these delays, it must be ten times so for him.

Wow, I can't stop laughing at this whole story. LightEVs just changes the date from 2009 to 2010, the rest is left word for word as it was all last year. (Oh, only one more year delay - no big deal.) And on the other hand you have Zenn not saying ANYTHING and making people think even a few weeks ago that it's still happening in 09. Can you give skeptics any more ammunition. Zenn's got some explaining to do. This is so entertaining!

PS I own a very small number of shares - just enough so I get to enjoy the fireworks, no matter which way they go.

My favorite line in that Cosby skit was when God asks Moses, "How long, can you tread water?". Could be analogus to the length of time we will have to wait for NNNN from EEstor or Zenn. Really, make that EEstor, not Zenn. Zenn is a helpless fly caught securely in EEstor's web. If EEstor doesn't come through before Zenn runs out of cash those of us who have invested enter the "Hurt Locker".

The first thing we've had in quite a while that's even close to NNN.

The bad news: The ZNN AGM will be a non-event. It sounds like the pro-duck-shun line has its challenges (hardly a surprise).

The good news: It would appear that LEV could actually be in the loop. They haven't packed up and gone home. There could still be a hand built prototype somewhere.

I see lightevs pushed back their timeline yet again:

Why don't they say "sometimes before 2020"
That way, they won't need to update it every 6 months.

Looks like Zenn first, modify, then Light EV's. All of these production lines should go up quickly after the first one. Different ED for different applications. Be neat to see the contract with Light EV's and EEstor. :)

Who's next?

Carl Watkins does a good job of repeating exaxtly what EEStor tells LightEVs without all the embellishment and leaks that other players <cough> Lockheed <couch> ZMC <cough!> Paradigm <cough!> seem to do over and over.

So now one thing we know for sure is Dick is talking to his partners as Carl wouldn't change anything without hearing from Dick. Now the question is how soon will the rest of us be let in on the discussions.

Please give us your source. If you can say Carl repeats exactly what EEStor tells him you must know exactly what EEStor told Carl. If you have a source that close why don't you share? This is how guess turns into fact here. Unless you were there you cannot make the statement you just made with any accuracy.
