I enjoyed reading the thesis. No new info, but it is an interesting exercise in mathematical rigor. I like the development of kernels for dipole fields. Pretty, but a long way to go to say "if r<ro, then function = 0." His constitutive relations do not apply to nonlinear, irreversible applications like energy storage. What are given as parameters in the thesis are actually nonlinear maps.

Refer to post http://www.theeestory.com/topics/253?page=1#p4872 for some specifics on oxygen vacancies and semiconductor work functions as applied to EEStor. The use of the alumina insulative shells and ultra high purity materials would make a semiconductor (depletion layer) model moot for the EEStor. Although, I suspect that analogous to semiconductors, surface gradients of composition, density, structure, disorder, or properties will result, effectively, in a higher electric field, that, almost paradoxically, will dominant the bulk permittivity properties, or total surface charge. See http://www.theeestory.com/topics/546 .
