TV,
While this topic is hot, I would like to propose minimum standards of civility for posts at this site. Pictures are not the only things that create offensive "images." I believe that there are words, viz. stupid, dumb, idiot etc., that serve no communicative purpose other than to be hurtful and offensive. Let's raise the standard on this site and not tolerate this kind of bashing.
This has become a widespread issue. See http://www.danieldrezner.com/archives/001414.html

Here are some thoughts I collected from the web:
"Setting standards for acceptable behaviour in a forum you control is conducive to free speech, not damaging to it. There's no reason why we should tolerate conversations online that we wouldn't tolerate in our living room."
Encourage bloggers to ignore "trolls" making nasty comments that fall short of abuse or libel. "Never wrestle with a pig," is the advice. "You both get dirty, but the pig likes it."
Pledge: We will always remember that the people we’re talking with are at least as important as the ideas that we’re discussing. Because of the detached interaction typical of online communication, we sometimes find ourselves forgetting that our conversational partners are real people discussing things that are sacred to them. Consequently, we open ourselves to the greater sins of hurtfulness and aggressive behaviors that contradict our commitments.
