In all cases anonymous sells. Up to 18,000 since Feb 6, 2012. Waiting for SEDI update to see who the culprit is.

So many possibilities

Had enough and wants out
Selling a small percentage to buy a Big Block
Adjusting portfolio
Needs cash now
etc etc

Without additional information one insider selling some stock isn't enough to fully raise an eyebrow let alone set off alarm bells.

Great work staying on top of it Muftee.......you da man!

As usual, good analysis from Eenigma.

Thanks Muftee.

I vote for cash now, seeing as salaries are deferred. Either has great investment opportunity, or wife doesn't like austerity budget. If we start to see several insiders selling larger quantities, then you can start to sweat.

Sweating at this late hour?

I thought we were down to stone cold gamblers and fanatic believers. ;)

Small potatoes at the moment. Might be interesting if it continues.

I'd love to know if BC has bailed. But then, I don't imagine he's considered an insider any more.

Just assume everything I say about EEStor includes the phrase "if it works".

Maybe it's the charity cashing in some of the stock that IC donated last year.

A charity would not qualify as an insider.

Are there any other extenuating circumstances that would allow an insider to trade (death/illness)? [personal]...

Insiders aren't prohibited from trading, they just have to report when they do.

SEDI says Ian Clifford sold 28000 shares this week
Thanks to JimEE, under remarks it says "tax related"

So is there a black out period before the Qrt 1 report or is there not?

You'd think that if IC had to sell shares to pay a tax bill, he'd have other investments he be more inclined to sell. Perhaps he has all his investment eggs in the ZNN basket.

He could be taking a loss on these, to wipe out some tax liability on a gain elsewhere. He can buy back in to maintain his position, or, maybe he needs the money and wants to save on taxes. Doesn't he own about 2 million shares? After waiting this long, and not drawing a salary from Zenn for a while, he may just need to do some shuffling around to keep his boat afloat.

Ian's new closing position is 2,095,461 which means this sale was ~1.3% of his holdings.

A very small amount TV. A question for Muftee: Would contribution to a RSP or Tax Free Savings account by Ian be viewed as inside trading?

Wouldn't this only make sense if it was 2011 still?

As an insider he would have to report a RRSP or TFSA contribution yes. Perhaps an over contribution that had to be adjusted? Or selling some so that they could be puchased within a TFSA or RRSP? Just a guess.

Shares can be transferred from a non-registered account to a TFSA or RRSP account - they wouldn't need to be sold and re-purchased.

I'm guessing he needed some cash. If this is all he sold then I'm not going to worry too much, but if the trend continues - or if another insider starts selling - then I'm going to head for the liferafts...

Assuming that the sale triggered a loss, then it can be carried forward indefinitely or back (up to 3 years). Any loss could be applied to a capital gain from the last 3 years.

Given that ZNN started trading at $0.20 (as Feel Good Cars, I believe) then even selling at $0.69 might represent a capital gain for Clifford.

If IC is selling cause he needs the cash.... well you've got to feel bad for the guy that he's had to wait this long for AHBL.
