fibb: do you live in the lower mainland?
Close, I'm in Victoria. And BTW, Go GREEN PARTY! ;-)

I'm honoured to make the list and share a spot with the great Ricinro. I guess compared to some I appear Liberal but I personally consider myself hard to pigeon hole politically. At any rate, I'd be up for a nice long drive to the reveal party to meet any EEStorians as I definitely won't be working if EESUs are real! Ching ching.

No Fucking way we'd let you have any smidge of Canada. You want to see a nation unite for a fight in a huge hurry, you just try it!

We could have predicted you'd say that. BTW over 3 years of driving a Prius I have always left people in the dust while averaging my 50 mpg.

In return I would be buying an overly complex, heavy car that delivers market average MPG and emissions, at above average running costs. A car that is more environmentally damaging to build than an equivilent ICE.
Outside of the enthusiast market, and the false perception that current hybrids are "green", there is no compelling reason to buy an EV or a hybrid.
IMO, the Volt will be the first car to genuinely address this, but we wont know for sure until the official figures are out. Let's hope that the figures are not "pimped" by testing the car with a battery full of mains juice.
Trick you are lying about the Prius. The Prius drivetrain is simple. The car is not heavy. 50 mpg is easy in the Prius and 60 is common. It is very cheap to own/operate with maintenance costs less than non-hybrid - no break jobs ever, for example. Batteries last longer than the rest of the car.
Manufacturing the car is not environmentally harsher than a gas car - you're spouting a total myth that's been completely discredited. Plus it's a mainstream car, high selling vehicle. Has been a Top 10 seller in many markets including the USA.
Go spew your troll vomit somewhere else you FUDster.
Ahh, you sad deluded fool.
Prius

Regular Ice

Prius LCA Results

Sorry but you are the deluded one. The hybrid system's only complex part is the ICE. Your schematic of the system says nothing contrary. The ICE is the weak link.
In regards to CO2, the car produces half the CO2 when driving that a gas car does, as shown in your own image. During its lifetime a car's total CO2/energy use impact is 90% from driving (not manufacturing) so overall the Prius' CO2 emissions are far lower than that from a gas car.
You are obviously too simple to understand this data or you have an agenda against hybrids.

Lowell wrote: Copied from Consulting the oracle thread "Forbidden topics: B has posted a bit of info on the topic that was forbidden on april 5 and 6 so here I go. On April 5 B appeared briefly in chat and said he was leaving on a jet plane to San Antonio Texas. ( San Antonio has an international airport and is a 2 hr drive from Cedar Park) When asked if his bags were packed, he replied he was taking 3 cameras. On April 5 and 6 there were at least three threads related to his trip and the need for three cameras. All three were deleted almost as soon as they appeared, mine included. The line of the chat where B mentioned three cameras has been deleted. My reveal dates were April 5 and 6. There was no public reveal on April 5 and 6, but the oracle was telling me personally to pay attention to events on those dates.
( April 10 ) , B made another brief appearance in chat. He is apparently on his way home and very upbeat. Maybe he just had a nice relaxing family vacation in the sunshine and played some golf. He used the specific phrase "Word of the day: confidence." My speculation is that he had a tour of EEStor and now has seen that the EESU is real and almost ready for the world.
the day that confidence was word of the day he also posted in chat a youtube vid of spongebob squarepants. The title of the video was, "Best Day Ever"

DeedleTwo wrote: ricinro wrote: I thought the solution for peak oil was to just keep drilling and believing?
Global petroleum market is being manipulated. Price is unhinged from supply and demand. The world's supertankers are in short supply because people are leasing them as storage facilities. Inventories are at or near record highs, and yet gasoline is close to $3.00/gallon here.
Deedle, have you seen this?

It might shed some light on why it's not as simple as you paint it.
